3 New Ways to Use Lotion from Bend Soap Co.

Creamy, soothing, and deeply nourishing, our all-natural goat milk lotion is one of our most versatile products!

You can use it as a deeply hydrating lotion, but switching up your application method, as we’ll show below, will get you even more bang for your buck. It’s made without any synthetic, toxic, or drying ingredients so you can feel confident every time you layer on the lotion!

Multi-use is marvelous!

We love products that really earn their place in our homes and that means the more uses for them we can find, the better! This is especially true when traveling because that means we don’t have to pack as much.

When we craft our products, we aim to simplify your life and declutter your home. More uses for our products means that you don’t have to buy more stuff to crowd your bathroom counter or purse. But it also simplifies travel and life with kiddos, too. Just imagine having one bottle of lotion that could be used on your hair, skin, and to help protect you from the sun’s rays. Yes, seriously, this lotion really is a wonder! Here are three easy ways you can get more out of our best-selling goat milk lotion.

Use It as an All-Natural Conditioner

Healthy hair? Hey we’ll always take a little extra shine in our strands. But leave the extra dyes, chemicals, and parabens out, please. With this first easy alter-use idea, all you have to do is grab your bottle of goat milk lotion and hit the showers!

Many of our customers actually use our goat milk soap as shampoo, and in that case, you may not even need the additional step of conditioner. Our goat milk soap provides cleansing without the typical commercial shampoo result of dry itchy scalp and brittle hair. However, sometimes our hair really needs an extra hit of moisture, and goat milk lotion conditioner is just the ticket.

Here’s how you do it: wash your hair as usual and then dispense a small dollop into your hands and rub it into your locks all the way down to the ends. Rinse, or leave in for a deep moisturizing treatment. And don’t worry, your hair will still be blowing in the breeze because our rich formula isn’t too heavy or greasy. Work with a small amount first and adjust as needed.

Make Your Own DIY All-Natural Sunscreen

It’s hot, but typical big-name brand sunscreens aren’t so hot for your skin health. Yes, we all want to block those harmful rays, but not at the risk of adding unnecessary toxins and chemicals to our skin. Did you know that some sunscreens are actually more harmful to your skin than the sun damage they are trying to prevent!?

Because of nanoparticles and other chemicals found in a lot of sunscreens, we prefer to make our own DIY natural sunscreen which uses our goat milk lotion as the base. We have a great all-natural sunscreen tutorial that can have a natural sun protection factor of around SPF 30. The non-nano zinc oxide we use in our DIY sunscreen recipe is a physical, mineral sun protection technology that works by reflecting UV rays. You can use it daily and apply liberally and evenly every 15 minutes before sun exposure.

The final outcome is a sunscreen that’s non-greasy, fast-absorbing (you won’t spend half your day trying to rub it in!), and gentle on sensitive skin. Plus, there aren’t any parabens, phthalates, or alcohols, and zero GMOs, dyes, or synthetic fragrances. As with all sunscreens, make sure you re-apply regularly every 2 hours and every 1 hour if you’re spending the day around water like at a pool, beach, or lake.

🛈 Pro Tip: Whether you’ve acquired a sunburn or just spent the day outdoors, did you know that our goat milk lotion formula also works as an amazing after sun lotion? The goat milk and aloe vera come together to offer your skin vitamin rich hydration and a fresh, healthy glow. No matter what scent you choose, our goat milk lotion is perfect for before and after sun exposure, or whenever you’re looking to nourish and hydrate your skin!

Keep Your Face Hydrated

Our goat milk lotion can help you put your best face forward without clogging your pores. When used as a facial cream, you’ll see that our goat milk lotion isn’t overly heavy on your skin yet provides a deep level of hydration.

“This product is absolutely wonderful, I love how it makes my skin feel soft and I bought my 15-year-old granddaughter who has bad acne on her face and she washes her face twice a day with goat milk soap and put the goat milk lotion on after washing with the goat milk soap… In 3 days her face was soft and glowing and she was so happy” - Patsy G.

Your face has different zones, and we often develop acne in one part of our face while another area is simultaneously too dry. Using goat milk lotion can help calm and even out your skin, while also soothing any red or agitated areas. Our customers with eczema and psoriasis love using our Unscented Goat Milk Lotion on the dry, scaly patches of skin on the face and hairline in addition to using it as an all-over body lotion. Apply a small amount of lotion to your face and neck and gently rub into the skin until fully absorbed. For people with very sensitive skin, we suggest testing out a small amount of lotion on your neck first to ensure that no reaction occurs.

Love all your products. Wishing you would make a night lotion with magnesium for leg cramps and generally sleep. Most people are deficient in magnesium.

Hi there! I’m new around here — just ordered a bunch of your products and I am so excited to try them out! Your soaps and lotions were recommended to me a while ago, but I’ve been waiting for my current shampoo, soap, and lotion to run out. Finally the time has come for a re-up and I can’t wait to use all of my new goat milk items!! This post was very helpful to read, as I’m planning to use the lotion as my new facial moisturizer. Awesome to know it can be a conditioning treatment as well! Thanks for the great content :)

I love the unscented lotion, I use it on my entire body. I really like how soft and smooth my face feels after washing with goats milk soap and then applying lotion.

What is the SPF that the lotion provides?
Thanks,
Susan
