Bend Soap Co. will be there when you go on vacation, but don’t forget to take us along on your next camping trip either! Here are 5 reasons why you’ll want to bring along your Bend Soap Co. products on your next outdoor adventure.
#1 Sunburn? Don't forget your bottle of goat milk lotion
It's easy to get swept away in the moment and forget the importance of protecting your skin. We've had to learn the hard way more than once and are no strangers to the pain and discomfort of the occasional sunburn.
Thankfully, you can prevent the irritation and peeling caused by sunburns by using a bottle of goat milk lotion as an all-natural after-sun moisturizer! Our goat milk lotion formula is absolutely packed with nutrient-rich ingredients that help soothe and rejuvenate sun-kissed skin. In fact, one of the key ingredients in our lotion is aloe vera — a sought after ingredient long known for its ability to calm dry, sunburned skin.

#2 Goat milk soap makes for an ideal camp soap
When you’re out camping and need to give your dishes a good rinse before you take them back home for a proper cleanup, a bar of our goat milk soap does the trick without any fuss.
Yes, you read that right; you can use a bar of your Bend Soap Co. goat milk soap as a safe and effective dish soap. Each bar is made using a limited number of all-natural ingredients and contains ZERO toxins, or chemicals so it won’t harm any rivers, lakes or streams you may find yourself at.
“This soap is AWESOME for washing dishes! And it's not because I couldn't buy something else if I wanted to. The fact is, this soap easily takes off grease, lathers amazingly, and is natural (of course!). We love avoiding all the chemicals in other dish soaps. No need for degreasers, detergents, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc.” - Marilee Johnson, Bend Soap Co. Co-Founder
To use, simply rub the bar of soap along a clean sponge to provide quick, effective suds. This method is perfect for camp cleaning chores like washing dishes and cleaning clothes and can effectively be used in hot or cold water and even salt water.
#3 Tend to wounds, cuts & scrapes with the Defender Salve
Made with a similar blend of essential oils found in our All Shield products — with the added benefits of frankincense essential oil — the Defender Salve is the perfect antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory defense to soothe skin and encourage healing all at the same time.
Use a thin layer of this salve in place of your Neosporin or antibacterial ointments to add a restorative protective layer between your skin and the outer elements and then top with a clean bandage. Aside from swapping out your antibacterial creams and ointments, these tins of balmy goodness can be used in a variety of different ways.
Popular ways to use the Defender Salve include:
- Hydrate cracked cuticles
- Apply to nicks, cuts, scrapes, and burns
- Prevent itching from bug bites
- Apply to skin that’s chapped from outside elements
#4 Pack less with our multi-use, head to toe bar soap
Aside from using your bar soap to wash your dishes, you can also use your soap as an all-natural replacement for a plethora of products. In the scope of camping, the most common ways to use the soap would be as a body wash, face wash, shampoo, and shaving cream. Imagine bringing one single product along on your next camping trip that not only helps cut down on what you have to pack, but does the job (and does it well!)
We make all of our bars of goat milk soap from scratch using a combination of four main rigorously tested, all-natural ingredients.
Every bar of our goat milk soap is made with the same simple ingredients:
- Fresh goat milk (from our own goats!)
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
- Red Palm oil
No fillers, dyes, synthetic fragrances, GMO, parabens, chemicals, alcohol or other “junk” will ever be found in our goat milk soap products. That means you can feel good knowing that your skin will be getting the nourishment it needs to look, feel, and perform at its best when you're out in the elements.
#5 Help keep pesky bugs away with these essential oil soaps
The summer months offer you the ability to enjoy a variety of different outdoor activities, but it also brings along a whole host of irritating bugs and insects like the dreaded mosquito. Thankfully, we have a handful of goat milk soap scents that contain essential oils that are known for their bug repelling abilities.
Here’s a list of essential oils that have been known to help repel mosquitoes (and what soap to find them in!):
- Lemongrass Essential Oil: found in our Lemongrass Goat Milk Soap.
- Lavender Essential Oil: found in our Hint of Lavender and Lavender Blossom Goat Milk Soap.
- Eucalyptus Essential Oil: found in our All Shield and Eucalyptus Spearmint Goat Milk Soap.
- Tea Tree Essential Oil: found in our Tea Tree Goat Milk Soap.
- Clary Sage Essential Oil: found in our Mount Bachelor Pine Goat Milk Soap.
🛈 Pro Tip: While DEET can be an effective mosquito repellent that’s easily available in most stores, if you have sensitive skin or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, it can be disastrous. Stick with one of the goat milk soap scents we’ve listed above as an all-natural way to keep bugs away.

Thanks for the ideas! I’m going to try and go camping in the fall, so I l will be taking your lotion and soap with me. And I’ve been using your lotion on my sunburn from the beach last week. Tuition told me it would help, and it has. Thank you!
